It Takes a Village (and a Lot of Fog Machines): Meet the Haunted Studio Team

Every scream, shadow, and spine-chilling moment that guests experience inside JDS Creative Academy’s Haunted Studio doesn’t just happen by chance — it’s the product of a creative village working in harmony. From students and staff to community volunteers, this annual Halloween production is a massive collaboration fueled by talent, teamwork, and a shared love for storytelling.

👻 Students Turn Fear into Fun (and Learning)

At the heart of the Haunted Studio are our students — the dreamers, builders, and storytellers who bring the magic to life. Each fall, they dive into every part of the production process: designing sets, mastering special effects, running lighting and sound, and even acting in unforgettable roles.

This immersive experience gives them a chance to apply everything they’ve learned in our programs — from scriptwriting and stage design to production management. It’s hands-on education with a creative twist, where every ghostly giggle and shriek becomes a lesson in real-world performance and technical skills.

💡 Staff & Mentors Behind the Magic

Of course, no show happens without guidance. The JDS staff and instructors work closely with students to teach industry standards in lighting, camera operation, costume design, and stage management. They’re not just building a haunted attraction — they’re mentoring the next generation of creative professionals.

Behind the scenes, you’ll also find the JDS Video & Media Productions team, helping capture all the thrills on camera so audiences near and far can experience the fun.

🧙‍♀️ Community Spirit That’s Frightfully Good

The Haunted Studio wouldn’t be possible without the local community. Parents, volunteers, and local businesses all pitch in — donating supplies, helping with décor, and spreading the word. That community connection is what makes this event so special.

It’s more than a haunted house — it’s a living example of how creativity brings people together. Every fog machine, sound cue, and prop tells a story of collaboration and passion that defines JDS Creative Academy’s mission: educate, inspire, and create!

So, the next time you step into the Haunted Studio and feel your heart race in the dark, remember — behind the scares is a team of artists learning, growing, and having the time of their (after)life.
